Minigore 2 Zombies Review

You wake up and pick up your axe and face off against hordes upon hordes of zombies, mummies, and giant dual clever wielding bloody chefs! If this sounds like fun to you, then Minigore 2: Zombies is your mobile game must have!

Minigore 2: Zombies is from the folks over at Mountain Sheep. In 2009, they released Minigore which is an action twin stick shooter. That means you move your character one stick, while the other stick is used to shoot in the direction you want. In December 2012, Mountain Sheep released the more polished Minigore 2: Zombies packed full of more zombies and monsters and comical cel-shaded carnage.

You play as John Gore and it’s your job to get rid of the hordes of undead over seven different stages. And with John Gore’s witty remarks, he loves his job! Your basic weapon is your axe, but fret not, you will have access to various weapon drops, which with the use of the money you collect, can upgrade and unlock existing weapons or new weapons. Some of these weapons include shotguns, machine guns, sabers, grenade launchers, and my favorite the dual sheep launcher. Don’t worry, John didn’t come alone! As you play, you get to unlock a variety of other characters on the roster.

Minigore 2: Zombies is a packed game. With its achievements to accomplish, boss battles, weapon upgrades, item unlocks, also character unlocks, and you will be at it for a fair amount of time. Also, the stages are not the shortest. If you want to collect and unlock everything, you’ll be putting in some time. Replayablilty on Minigore 2: Zombies is definitely high. But you know what, it’s so much fun, you keep coming back for more. I love when there is a screen full on undead, a dual sheep launcher drops, and I pick it up and BOOM! The horde explodes into pieces of cartoony body parts. It really is funny.

When I picked up Minigore 2: Zombies for free through IGN, I wasn’t expecting to have as much fun as I do. I travel over an hour on the metro to work and Minigore 2: Zombies is what I use to pass the time. It is a crisp, fast paced game. It’s easy to pick up. I had virtually no slowdowns, hiccups, or crashes while playing on my iPhone, even when I was being swamped by the massive hordes.
