Do you remember when the Microsoft Xbox One came on the scene? It came bundled with the Kinect 2.0 for $100 more than the Sony Playstation 4. This did not go over well with many gamers. They felt as if the Kinect 2.0 was being forced on them.
Microsoft then went back to the drawing table and re-introduced an Xbox One sans the Kinect 2.0. Even better was the fact that it was $100 less and matched the price of the PS4 at $399. There was much rejoicing and the sales of the Kinect 2.0 –less Xbox One rose.
However, what if you wanted to then go out a buy the Kinect 2.0 by itself, where could you get it?
Well the answer to your question is on October 7th. Today, Microsoft officially announced that a stand-alone Kinect 2.0 sensor will be available for purchase on October 7th for $149.99. This stand-alone unit will also come with a download code for a free game. That free game will be Dance Central Spotlight from Harmonix. This seems to be perfect timing seeing that this will be right around the holiday shopping time period.
So, what do you all think, do you think there will be a rush to pick up the stand-alone Kinect 2.0? If you have an Xbox One, are you looking forward to getting the Kinect 2.0?
