Folks Confident Games is going Anime this Valentine’s weekend by heading to Katuscon.
If you remember, last fall we attended our first official anime convention, Anime USA and we had a blast. We have always enjoyed the world of anime but hadn’t considered incorporating it into Confident Gamers. Boy were we wrong. This is certainly a field of geekdom that we are going to be expanding on, and this includes going to even more local anime conventions. Thankfully the DC Metro area has a long list of events we can attend throughout the year. While we can’t go to all of them, we just knew Katsucon would have to be one of them on our list.
Katsucon is an annual 3-day fan convention that is held in the D.C. metro area. It was created to provide various forms of entertainment for multicultural enthusiasts who had a passion for anime and the Japanese culture. Katsucon is produced by Katsucon Entertainment, Inc. (KEI), an educational organization dedicated to bringing information about Japanese animation, society, and traditional and popular culture to fans everywhere.
This year we are finally heading out there to see what all the hype has been about. We will be meeting up with some good friend of ours Geek Archaeologists who hold a vast knowledge of most things geek and all things anime. Brent Newhall will probably host a panel or two related to the history of anime so we will be sure to check those out and share our findings with you.
Here is a great fan made video from last years event. Talking about montage #goals
If you are interested in attending there are still tickets available now. Head over to their website for location, time and ticket information now.
