What happens when you mix Netflix with Gamefly and Xbox? You get Xbox Game Pass.
Today, Xbox announced its newest service coming for the Xbox One and Windows 10 later this Spring. The service is called Xbox Game Pass.
Xbox Game Pass will be a subscription service that will give gamers unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and backwards compatible Xbox 360 games. Go on, we are listening? Gamers will be able to fully download the available title of their choice directly to their consoles which would eliminate streaming, bandwidth or connectivity issues. You have gotten our attention, please continue. On top of that, new games will be added each month and the games, as well as any add-ons, will be available for purchase at a discount. If you like an Xbox One title, then opt to purchase it at a 20% discount and a 10% discount for add-ons.
Something to note because it was a question we thought about. What happens when you go offline? Will you still be able to play the game while offline? Well according to the FAQ, the game will be available for up to thirty (30) days offline.
An Alpha Preview will be rolling out to select members of the Xbox Insider Program with a very limited number of titles and then Xbox Live members will be receiving exclusive access prior to launch.
Here are some of the titles Xbox Game Pass will launch with: Halo 5: Guardians, Saints Row IV Re-Elected, NBA 2K16, Mad Max, LEGO Batman, Mega Man Legacy Collection, Terraria, Payday 2, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Fable III, SoulCalibur II and Tekken Tag 2. Note that these titles will not be part of the Xbox Insider Program.
Of course, the big question is, how much will this thing cost? So, the Xbox Game Pass subscription will cost $9.99 per month.
