One of the biggest events of the year for Confident Gamers is the GameStop Expo. We were happy to have the chance to return again this year and would love to share our experience with you.
I can say with certainty that each year the Expo gets better and better. From the staff, to the coordination of events and the layout of the expo hall each year the GameStop team steps up their game plan and takes the expo to another level. While there was a lot to do, the floor plan of how the team set up all the booths was so well thought through that you never felt overwhelmed or lost. Everything was well spaced so you never felt crowded and you could easily find whatever exhibitor you were looking for. Each of the exhibitors we were able to meet with felt genuinely happy to be there, to share with us about their game or product and seemed to be enjoying themselves as well as interacting with all the guest that stopped by. Good vibes al around.
The scheduled guest, the hands on gaming experience, the panels and the entertainment were all excellent. Even after the hall opened up at 11 am to allow all general admission ticketed guest in after the VIP had an full hour and a half to themselves there were still no extremely long wanting periods to get hands on with your favorite games.
If I didn’t mention it yet, it was guaranteed that no guest was allowed to leave the expo floor emptied handed. Many of the exhibitors brought with them enough swag to cover all the guest and some. So if you didn’t come with spending money on hand you were sure to still walk away with some token or more of your time spent there. From bags, to buttons, to posters there was much to leave with from any of your favorite games or products. And if that wasn’t enough, majority of the booths there also had periodic giveaways throughout the event with items from free games to full out systems up for grabs. And we can’t forget the the VIP swag bag that was full of goodies including the signature Expo Shirt. GameStop went out of their way to ensure their guest left happy. If you are considering checking out the Expo next year, do be sure to splurge and go as VIP, it is certainly worth the experience.
One of my favorite highlights of the event was at the Microsoft booth were not only could you play a bit of Halo 5, guest could participate in a 5 v 5 live action halo experience. They had a large area walled off and set up for a full scale assault battle of 3 rounds. It was great seeing the teams really get into the experience and take each other on. You can see a bit of our coverage in our montage below.
In addition to the long list of games you could get to play there were also a lot of tech and game accessories you could try out and purchase if you wanted. From gaming headsets, controllers, systems and accessory chargers you could leave there with everything you need to complete your daily experience regardless of your gaming system of choice.
We were also fortunate to meet with the team of Little Orbit to hear about 4 of their soon to be released family friendly games. You can see each of our interviews below.
And lastly here is our quick montage of the entire event. Hope you enjoy and are inspired to check the event out next year. Date and location to be determined.
