If you haven’t had a chance to play Gigantic yet, your chance win a beta code is below.

To get you prepared for the explosive world of Gigantic we are here to break down what you have to look forward to.

Storyline

Gigantic is a free-to-play shooter MOBA where heroes battle alongside a massive guardian in a fight for supremacy.

This Windows 10 and Xbox One exclusive, provides you with an opportunity to team up with four friends to control a fantasy battleground and slay a five-story-tall guardian. Oh and you also will have to keep your own team’s guardian alive while you do everything else.

Gameplay/Controls

Before each round you will start by choosing your hero from a wide range of available heroes to fight with. You will pick from choices that include everything from a heavy-metal juggernaut to a stealthy acrobat to a fire-breathing sorcerer. Here is a glimpse of each of the current characters at your disposal.

Of course you do level up and each time you play Gigantic, you’ll gain access to even more heroes and better abilities. And the good part is that you can level up on the fly. You don’t have to wait until the battle is over to beef up your character. As the battle rages, choose newer, stronger abilities for your hero and adapt to the changing battle.

The controls for Gigantic are fairly standard and easy to learn as the beginning tutorial takes you through each of the controls and tasks you will need to master.

Once the round starts the main objective is to claim as much territory as possible. You will blast off on one of the 3 airships to take you the battle field. Airships are magical vessels that conveys heroes to the battleground. If heroes die, the guardian will resurrect them at the airship.

The more territory you cover the weaker and more vulnerable the opponents guardian will become. To cover more grounds you must summon creatures on the various summoning circles around the map. These creatures are monsters that guards summoning circles. “Summoned creature” is often useful for context on first reference. There are multiple kinds of creature; including the watchful cerberus, the treelike bloomer, and the fierce drake.

Now the opposing team can come and kill your creatures and then claim the territory as their own by summoning their own creatures in their place. Don’t let that happen.

The Guardians, while huge and … Gigantic … are tough but not invincible. They actually have a pretty visible weak spot that you can aim for. Looks like a crack in their torso. That is the spot you want to focus on when attacking an opponents vulnerable Guardian. So once you hear that your guardian is preparing to attack your goal is to head to the opposing guardians liar. Once your guardian manages to strike the opponents guardian they will be down for a short period of time. This is your window of opportunity to strike. Of course if you are on the receiving end of this then you need to do what you can to head back to your guardian to protect them and destroy the enemy.

Graphics/Sound

The graphics that make up the Gigantic world are pretty darn amazing. While the game has such an intense motive and objective the great shell shaded drawings of the environment and characters are just fantastic. To be honest this is what originally pulled me into the game. Just the bright colors and the youthfulness of the art was really appealing. This style really adds some depth to each of the characters, creatures and guardians.

Replayability

The very nature of a MOBA makes this game extremely long lasting. As long as the players are there the fun will continue. Each time you play it is a different experience.
